The hamlet of Prattsville is located on Route 23, our Main Street.

Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, Prattsville was named after Zadock Pratt, a congressman and prominent citizen and businessman.

​

Pratt built a tannery larger than any other in the world at the time, helping Prattsville become a major town in upstate New York.  His life is depicted through a series of stone carvings known as Pratt Rock, which he commissioned during his lifetime.
